Seat Description

The Director of Finance and Administration is a strategic role responsible for the financial and administrative management of the company. This seat’s key accountabilities are accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, A/R and A/P reporting, tax compliance, and information technology. The position ensures that all financial and accounting systems are in good working order, offers organizational leaders timely and accurate financial information, and is responsible for managing the administrative systems associated with the finance, accounting, and IT functions.

The Director of Finance and Administration is a member of the Leadership Team and plays a critical role in strategic decision-making and operations as Showcraft grows and builds capacity. This position reports directly to the President/COO but works closely with the CEO to support the major strategic efforts associated with the growth initiatives of the company.

Areas of Accountability

Financial Management: Accountable for all systems and processes for collecting revenue, paying bills, and purchasing to ensure accurate and timely financial data, including

  • Verifying and posting transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records, and preparing supporting account reconciliations;

  • Clearly preparing and analyzing monthly and annual financial statements and reports for all stakeholders

  • Updating, documenting, and implementing all necessary financial policies and accounting practices to improve the company’s efficiency and financial controls

  • Overseeing and leading the annual budgeting and planning process

  • Administering and reviewing all financial plans and budgets; monitoring progress and changes and keeping the Leadership Team informed of the organization’s financial status

  • Managing organizational cash flow, forecasting, and oversight of all bank accounts to maintain adequate working capital

  • Managing the client invoice and collection schedule

  • Ensuring compliance with Federal, State, local, and any other financial, tax reporting, and regulatory requirements

Technology: Accountable for the overall administration, planning, coordination, and execution of all IT functions including:

  • Analyzing organizational needs and recommending technical solutions.

  • Directing operations in executing Showcraft’s technology policies and strategic plan.

  • Maintaining and enforcing procedures around technology and telecommunication.

  • Liaising between Showcraft and outside IT consultants in the areas of systems design, modifications, or troubleshooting.

Administration: Responsible for the overall administrative functions to ensure efficient and consistent operations including:


  • Working closely with all external partners including vendors and consultants

  • Managing relationships with HR, IT, and Accounting partners

  • Reviewing and ensuring compliance with all company contracts

  • Evaluating and maintaining adequate insurance coverage

  • Ensuring that insurance policies are timely renewed or replaced, managing the relationship with the insurance carriers and agents

Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in accounting, finance, or business administration and/or minimum of 7-10 years in financial administration

  • Prior experience in accountability for the quality and content of all financial data for either a division, group, or significant business unit

  • Technology savvy with experience working with various tech stack tolls and managing relationships with software vendors;

  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with various accounting and reporting software tools such as Sage Intaact and QBO

  • Past success in setting priorities and a proven multi-tasker

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
